Gabion gravity retaining wall is a segmental tetaining wall system combining the asethetics of masonry walls with the engineered reassurance of reinforced earth. Segmental block retaining walls are increasing in popularity due to their ease of construction, cost-effectiveness and versatility.
Up to approximately l m in height. No geogrid reinforcements is requied (depending on siteconditions) and the interlocked blocks form a massgravity structure. Taller walls require geogrid reinforcement. The geogrids are placed horizontally witin the structural back fill to the wall. providing tensile strength and holding the soil mass together. The grids also tis the fascia blocks to the reinforced soil.
